Season 1 Trailer: Strangers
A piper leads 130 children out of a medieval town, and they are never seen again. A boy stumbles into Nuremberg with a letter and no past. A woman is found burned in a Norwegian valley, every label cut from her clothes. And a ship drifts across the Atlantic with her cargo intact and her crew gone.
Season 1 of Midnight Signals is about strangers: people who appeared from nowhere, people who vanished without a trace, and the questions they left behind. Six true mysteries from history, told as documentary stories.
New episodes every week. Hosted by Russ Chamberlin.

Midnight Signals blends history, folklore, and dramatized storytelling. Some names, places, and events are fictionalized or illustrative. Characters are fictional, and any resemblance to real persons, living or dead, is coincidental.
0:00 On a summer morning in twelve eighty-four, the gate of a German town stood open. A piper in bright colors walked out through it, playing. Behind him came the children, one hundred and thirty of them. A century later, a clerk wrote a single line in the town's books. "It is one hundred years since our children left." This is Midnight Signals. In eighteen twenty-eight, a boy stumbled into a square in Nuremberg holding a letter. He could barely walk. He could barely speak. And for the rest of his short life, someone seemed determined to make sure he never told anyone where he had come from. In nineteen seventy, in a frozen valley in Norway, hikers found a woman's body, burned, with the labels cut from every piece of her clothing. She had checked into hotels under eight different names.
0:53 To this day, no one knows the real one. And in eighteen seventy-two, sailors boarded a ship drifting in the middle of the Atlantic. The cargo was there. The food was there. The crew was gone.
